POSITION: Development Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Development Manager
STATUS: Hourly, non-exempt, 32 hours/week
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the recruitment of volunteers and ongoing coordination of their activities associated with all events
& programs ensuring the best utilization of their time and capabilities. In addition, the position will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination for all activities associated with the planning and execution of various community events, special events and fundraisers to support our mission to keep hunger awareness relevant in our community while increasing both financial and public relations support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Coordinate all functions associated with volunteers and interns to include identifying, recruiting, retaining, tracking hours and work assignments. Assist in providing direction and training as needed. Maintain relationships with local colleges and community/civic groups to keep an ongoing pipeline for resources.

Take a lead role in event planning and fundraising activities such as Empty Bowls, The Race to End Hunger, community food drives and community related events. Coordinate special volunteer planning and fundraising committees for those events.

Develop and maintain a master calendar of upcoming events, meetings, functions, and fundraisers etc. for staff, board members and volunteers.

Responsible for all client referrals to member agencies for food emergency calls and with maintaining a positive working relationship with the agencies.

Maintain and update master list of partner agencies food distribution schedules and keep volunteer receptionists informed so they can assist with emergency food calls.

Perform various office tasks as assigned, answering phones, filing, data entry, etc.

Coordinate maintenance of Lots to Love Community Garden and scheduling of volunteers for planting, weeding, and harvesting, etc.

As needed, will represent the CFW at various community events and speaking engagements helping to raise awareness and support in meeting food needs in our county.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Marketing, Public Relations, Social Services or equivalent or one to two years hands-on experience related to the position.

Ability to juggle multiple projects with a strong attention to detail and follow-up.

Strong project management skills to include fundraising events.

Able to use personal computer and job-related software programs and office equipment

Proficient verbal and written communication skills to include public speaking.

Will be required to obtain food safety training administered by CFW within 60 days as well as any other job training as needed.
GENERAL GUIDELINES:
This position will help support the mission of the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County by helping to raise awareness and educating the public on the importance of helping to end hunger in our community but by assisting in the distribution of food to those in need.
Individual is expected to perform all duties in a safe manner and in compliance with Feeding America and all applicable state and federal agency regulations such as OSHA.
