How to Help

I'm a title. Click here to edit me.

Mother Theresa famously said, "Everyone can do something." Here at the CFWMC, we firmly believe that. The generosity of our community is what enables us to feed so many hungry people.

There are so many ways to help- no matter what your talents are. Below are a few ways you can help to fight hunger in our community. Click on any of the bold areas to learn more.

  • Hold a food drive. Lots of organizations and schools do this- but you can also ask your family and friends to bring canned goods to your next party- we've even had several children ask their friends to bring canned goods instead of toys to their birthday parties!

  • Shop and donate.  Instead of shopping on Amazon, start your shopping on Amazon Smile- it's the same products, but when you start there, Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase price to us!

You can also shop and donate through Goodshop. When you sign up through this link make your first $25+ purchase through Goodshop, they will gift a $5 donation both to the cause you choose (we hope you'll choose us and double the donation from Goodshop to $10! ), and to the Community Food Warehouse.

  • Donate a Deer. Pennsylvania's Hunters Sharing the Harvest Program allows hunters to donate deer to the hungry. Click here to be redirected to their website to find out how you can donate your deer. HSH is looking for participating deer processors to help out by safely processing donated deer. Click here to find out how you can become one.

Local participating deer processors are:

- Liszka Meats

  Greenville, PA 16125

  724.588.4364

-Minor Acres Packing Co.

 641 Kilgore Road

 Jackson Center, PA

  • Volunteer.  We need volunteers for a variety of things- sorting food, help around the Warehouse and office, and help with our events, as well as community events.  If you really want to get in the spirit, you can volunteer to dress up as our mascot, Myron the Hunger Awareness Monkey. Check out our volunteer page to learn more about getting started.

  • Support us by making a regular donation.

  • Plant-A-Row (or a few): Plant an extra row of produce. Once it's ready, bring it down to the Warehouse. We'll get it to the people who need it the most!

These are just a few ideas to get you started- if you have a new idea, we'd love to hear it! Give us a call: 724-981-0353.
